Default First Step to tranny rebuild...

As most of you know the 4r70w exploded lol... nothing has been done, the valvebody is still out and **** but i put the pan to protect the inside, painted the first coat on today...

whos doing the rebuild? and are you just rebuilding it with stock or you going to actually build it to hold some power?

peecola i have no clue.. and an Sn yes it will have kevlar clutch plates and the work.. the guy who swapped my tranny is going to help me once i have all the parts.

Nice Stephen.. should do a jmod and a shiftkit while you're at it.

I'm just plopping my tranny off at the shop, and they'll do it..idk wtf is going in there.. but its being built to withstand 400+ rwhp.. i hope... lmao

umm 400whp? a stock 4r70w does that? i think a stock 4r70w goes to 450.. lol...

and its already jerry modded, i decided not to sell the seperator plate.

It'd end up taking a **** too quickly. A valve body on the newer ones will handle 500, but do you really want to trust it on your stock transmission..

Specially when I pushed maybe 260 to the wheels off nitrous..and now its up around 400-450 depending on the nitrous shot..

Tranny with 80k miles on it - then throw a shitload more power at it - dead transmission.

No not really, but it made me sick. I had no clue what it was and watching it do it slowly makes me sick.
