75 when I blew it up. 150 now.

mustangV6_04 04-17-2009 03:48 PM

nice

mustangV6_04 04-17-2009 03:49 PM

oh what gears you gonna run?

SnTBakosFinest 04-17-2009 03:57 PM

4.10s will go in. Currently the gears are 3.55's.

Gears and the cover are the only things I will be changing on that rear end. Hopefully it holds up if/when I launch on the bottle. If not...off to a 9"

jon2325 04-17-2009 08:21 PM

looking good, this will surely be one bad v6 when you get it rebuilt

08mustang_gt 04-19-2009 06:59 AM

You should never require a 9". Even if you do I would stray away if you could. I know they're strong but they're heavyyyy. The 8.8" should be more than enough since you're not pumping out 1000hp.

SnTBakosFinest 04-19-2009 12:42 PM

HP wouldn't be the issue with the rear tq would. And it doesn't necessarily take a massive amount to break one. They make a 9" that isn't extremely heavy.

Things have a tendency to break when you launch off nitrous..we'll see what happens :)

TB is a 65mm I don't want to go bigger due to CA emissions concerns, visual will kill me. This thing will have to be pulled off during inspection, no stamp, 70mm would be more difficult then that.

That's awesome that you are actully getting shit done. You hear alot of people talk shit about what they are going to do, but you are actully getting shit done.

40thblckgt 05-06-2009 12:25 PM

Sweet! Ever thought about getting a wideband a/f gauge and ditching the narrowband?

audikillsbmw 05-06-2009 12:40 PM

one could turn that narrow band gauge into a wide band with one of these nifty LC-1 kits sold by innovate motorsports.

Yea, but then again I had no choice, lol. But I figured, I'm not going to stop racing, so I may as well get faster while I'm at it.

And yea, thought about the wideband, the A/F off the nitrous is what i'll be worried about, but with the tune and the proper jetting I should be ok. We'll see though.

Motor was pulled out of the car today, more pics to come.

obviously your piston is fucked!

all i was asking is if your ring land broked which to me is very apparent but to you not so much!

hope you're not building that new stroker

jon2325 05-07-2009 07:55 PM

is that piston the result of sprayin the piss out of it?

Uh that stroker is being built. And the ring from what we saw of it yesterday was fine. The piston itself just had the nice break, the other two cylinders next to it chomped up the broke peice and it then (we believe) went out the exhaust.

Well, it is, BUT, I didn't run the nitrous properly. I was untuned, and we think I went too lean when I did this..
