Default NEED PICTURES OF

99-04 Mustangs with nitrous bottles mounted.

I'm in serious need of ideas. The bottle has to be mounted solid. If its your install - what problems did you run into?

My issue right now is - fear of hitting my gas tank

its not that hard to drop the tank if you are worried you will pierce it.

Does mounted solid mean that you can't throw it in the trunk?

So your bottles not mounted? Just drop the gas tank.

**** dropping the gas tank I said. I went ahead and utilized the rear seat delete. Mounted the bottle there. Blowdown tube going down.. blowdown tube won't be completely legal, as its not going to pass all the way through the car but i highly doubt they are going to check.. i hit my muffler.. so i was like "screw it"

Warmer install will be coming shortly. Purge re-isntall will be coming as well.

Pics soon to come.

Got any pics Bakos? Once I get mine I'll probably put it right behind the driver side back seat. for an easy reach. Seen a couple ppl mount it right on the rsd like you, which I would do if I had one. You should put some hinges on your rsd and mount the bottle under it.

Its 10lb bottle. It won't just fit under the delete. Its mounted on the passenger side. That way I can turn around look at my pressure and still reach around and turn the bottle on.

Pictures will come this weekend. I'm in the process of sanding it down and repainting.

Then I'll probably have it airbrushed..little something for the local shows.

Nice. Would cops give you a problem if you were ever pulled over and they saw it there? I know it different from state to state but I think most it's illegal to have the bottle in arms reach.

Dude I live in California. ANYTHING on a car is illegal. And yes, if I get pulled over, it'll suck.

Its a mission to the bureau of automotive repair (again)

Last time I had to pull everything off, go there, pay 8 bucks to have some asshat who knew nothing about cars complain about my car being loud and how do i drive with it ect.

Then go to the court pay 20 bucks and be on my way..

The car was deemed "illegal on california roadways until in compliance" lol..

Yeah lol I remember reading about that haha. Just do the ol' gym bag technique then; cutting the bottom out and putting it over the bottle.

Oh I know, I was just posting pictures because I was bored. I like how his trunk is all black and nice looking. What's RSD?

I have the Mach1000 so I don't have much of a choice but to put it between the amp rack and the back seats. I really like where it is. I can reach back while I drive and open the bottle or flip the heater on/off as needed. I used grade 8 bolts drilled threw the trunk with washers on both sides and lock nuts. The line is ran under the car so it has a hole drilled through the trunk with a rubber gasket to keep it from chafing.

Yes of course you just have to use your head when you drill. There is the fuel tank just inches from the rear bolts, fuel lines, and filter and other things back there. I went under the car found where I wanted to mount it and then went up top used a punch (you can just use a screwdriver) and hammer to make a dent into the metal to see where I would be drilling. Once I knew I was clear to drill from seeing where the dents were I did work.

Dustin have you ever ran into any problems with having your bottle mounted sideways? I have read that it is better to have the *** of the bottle facing the rear of the car in order to get the most out of the bottle because of the way the syphon tube is designed. I guess there would only be a problem if the bottle was low. I understand how you were tight on space because of the mach 1000 amp rack. Just wondering.

No problems even when the bottle is almost empty. The pickup in the bottle is all the way at the bottom facing down so its pretty much always in liquid nitrous even when sideways and launching hard like in my car. You can shim the bottle to make it sit higher up in the front to help with this even more. Luckily the Compucar kit has very tall front brackets.
