Aiiight, time for pics of the drop.

So, sorry for the long wait between my lowering and this thread, but I literally had a few hours between aligning her and driving the five hours to Ft. Worth.
And it's for that reason that I had to take the pictures in, no kidding, the parking lot of our great First Baptist Church haha.
So here's some befores from July that are gross cause I suck at photography, and some from Friday. I was kind of disappointed that the Eibachs didn't drop the car that much at all...
But oh well, the steering is MILES from where it was!

Mr. Zip 02-08-2009 08:30 PM

^ Yeah, my thoughts exactly. But these were legit pro-kits. O.o

08mustang_gt 02-08-2009 08:31 PM

Looks like a lift kit!!

3.8for the win 02-08-2009 08:33 PM

the first two pics look like there was a lift kit on there, with the spring it looks like normal v6 hight.

Stephen4036 02-08-2009 08:41 PM

HOLY SHIT ide be pissed... !!! did you put fronts in the rear and vice versa?

Mr. Zip 02-08-2009 08:43 PM

Naa I got it right. All new isos too. I may just get em cut.

Stephen4036 02-08-2009 08:47 PM

ummm either way dude somethins wrong hahahahaha

SeanStang 02-08-2009 08:51 PM

Lol. What the fuck, thats not a drop. Did you happen to measure the gap before/after or from ground to fender?

Mr. Zip 02-08-2009 08:51 PM

You all laugh, but for real, it has always been SO HIGH! Wtf is causing it? The springs are seated in the arms right and everything...

King 02-08-2009 08:55 PM

Take out the ISOs

Flynnster 02-08-2009 08:57 PM

Wow, you could try taking the iso's off?
Edit: King beat me too it.

SeanStang 02-08-2009 08:58 PM

You said you put new isolators in, which ones? Where they significantly thicker than the stockers lol, only thing that comes to mind. Where did you get the springs and isos from?

Mr. Zip 02-08-2009 08:59 PM

Ya, and it was a little under inch and a half all the way around.

Naa, they looked right and I put them on correctly. Springs from AM, Isos from summitt.

King 02-08-2009 09:03 PM

Like I said, might try pulling the ISOs

PistonsFan102 02-08-2009 09:06 PM

I think you guys are a little slow.

The first 2 pics are BEFORE pictures, and the other ones are from after he installed the springs.

Car looks badass Mr. Zip. It is like night and day with those new springs.

Mr. Zip 02-08-2009 09:06 PM

Is that gonna make the ride quality nastttyyy?

King 02-08-2009 09:07 PM

A little rougher, yes...I don't know if I'd go quite to nasty, but rougher for sure.

Mr. Zip 02-08-2009 09:09 PM

Thanks man. I see what they're sayin though. The springs I think should have been lower than they are..

Yeah but even with the isos in it should be lower.

King 02-08-2009 09:13 PM

True, but it'd be safer than just cutting the coil wouldn't it? I've been told that cutting the coil decreases it's lifespan (this is obviously something I've never done). Hence the reason I always resort to the ISOs

Are you saying not having isos makes the ride rougher? If so thats not the case, they are just to help prevent (isolate) noise from the metal on metal contact.

King 02-08-2009 09:15 PM

It's been a while since I've pulled any ISOs and the last time I did it definitely felt rougher..

Don't know about decreasing lifespan, but it leads to an unknown spring rate. If not cut perfectly can also be unbalanced.

it blows my mind that you're the only other person that figured this out.

King 02-08-2009 09:22 PM

No, I noticed...I just think it's ridiculous that it's still THAT high

SeanStang 02-08-2009 09:24 PM

Lmao. I doubt he's the only one. If you read his original post it says in it before and after pics. We're just surprised he's still riding that high.

At least it looks sweet when I drive it.....

Stephen4036 02-08-2009 10:45 PM

that looks totally different than the others u posted.

Dave04Mustang 02-08-2009 10:51 PM

yeah something isn't right. My car looks lower and i've never lowered it. Your before pics looked like someone put a truck lift kit mine never looked that 4x4. Weird

Mr. Zip 02-08-2009 10:54 PM

Yeah the last pic ^^ up there is one my friend took that day. I took the others. I hate how high my car is O.o

Steeda97 02-09-2009 08:44 AM

do you need a ladder to get into that thing?

just busting your balls. but yeah, definitely something wrong there. lol.

01FR500 02-09-2009 10:45 AM

Sits way too high. I really can't tell a difference from the before and after. Are thoes 17 inch rims or 18 inch? And what is the sidewall heigth of the tires?

yellowstang99 02-09-2009 10:52 AM

Thats higher now than my car was stock. I say take the springs out and cut at least a coil out of them and make sure they are installed in the right spots. This last pic you posted only looks low because you are making a hard turn shifting the weight of the car to the drivers side where the pic was snapped...

Steeda97 02-09-2009 11:03 AM

I'd check my installation before I cut coils.

Yes, definitely check installation first. If all else fails you can start cutting but that is last resort if installation is correct and you don't want to order different springs. I cut my eibach sportlines 1/2 coil in the front to get the look I want. What springs are on the car?

Black Sunshine 02-09-2009 11:34 AM

I too, realized that the first two pictures were taken before the spring install and the last two were taken after. I don't notice that much of a difference between stock and lowered.
