I know, I know, not a Mustang..

Decided to finally give the Stratus a bath today (since it was up to about 55) and decided to snap a few quick pics..

Only changes really are the Sylvania turn signals and the new tires. HID's coming soon (should be here next week) and hope to have the windows tinted by the end of the month.

Yeah I hate that too, I want to wash my car so bad. :(

mustangvsix 01-03-2009 05:34 PM

car looks good man, and of course any time you wash a car it always tends to bring rain, I know it does for me.

BikerSk8rKid 01-03-2009 05:42 PM

Yeah I'm lucky right now, I just got my car washed and everything, looks so nice, and I love how my rims were done. I just wish I could take pictures and hopefully the weather stays dry. :/

Google is your friend. But otherwise, they are High Intensity Discharge headlamps. Basically they use xenon gas and ballasts to create much brighter light using less power.

(8000K is the color temperature, which is light blue in this case. they can come in any color all the way up to crazy deep blue purple, but that hurts the actual amount of visible light)

What lights are legal? I know I wanted RED ones for so long. That's hot. :( Google eh I hate being lazy. :D

PColav6 01-03-2009 11:44 PM

Red headlights? What the fuck? lol

His are blue, can't I make mine red? I swear I've seen red ones before.

spike_africa 01-04-2009 04:04 AM

Cant have red HIDs. You can go yellow,white,white/blue tint, blue, super blue, purple. That's it for the color choices. The higher up the scale you go in temp the less actual light that is projected.

mustangV6_04 01-04-2009 06:33 PM

love the pics. But for hid's, idk i couldnt put that much money toward lights when the fogs would be different unless you spent more money and got those hid too.

Ghostalker 01-04-2009 07:18 PM

Its the next step, but I do not drive the pony anymore, she will get them as soon as spring time comes =D

I wouldn't pay to have HID's installed its super easy to do it yourself

I was just curious because my friend works for them or something. He's asking me to ask around for him and I just got curious. Thank you!

Ghostalker 01-05-2009 07:30 AM

I got mine for 110 shipped, and they are bi-xenon, which means you still get low and high beams. So 40 dollars for labor? It took around 30-45 mins, mostly due to inconvenient choices for mounting locations for the ballasts on our cars.
I failed to mention earlier I always thought those year stratus looked good. And yours is a damn clean example. Even if it is a damn mopar.

I don't even know, he said I can get anything I want. Which sounds like he works for them, gets a discount, or has some connection (steeling maybe). Why is it so much, isn't it just a blub? I kind of want to do it, but then I don't because of a problem I have with my front bumper.

Ghostalker 01-05-2009 04:57 PM

No, it is not just a bulb. "Xenon" headlight may just be bulbs, its a word thrown around with "HID look!" and crap like that. You want real HIDs which means a bulb that works more like a florescent system, and ballasts which up the power to the headlights. Completely different.
But seriously lets not jack this thread further, I feel like a pirate.
