Can you give some more info on your m1 Carbine, storms?

make/era, etc.

Here's our WWII collection so far, between myself, my dad and my brother.
The Carbine on the top and 2nd Garand from the bottom are mine

Carbine is an Italian loaner made by Inland in 1944, parking is still 99% (it was probably reparked in the armory after the war before being sent to italy), original barrel with no wear, near-mint condition italian stock.
Garand is a Danish loaner (CMP "Field Grade") made by Springfield in October 1943, parking about 80%, low muzzle wear, lots of post-war parts, original barrel, replacement stock that I plan to toss and replace with a CMP stock, it's got a lot of wear and tear but still a good shooter. Plan to get a H&R Service Grade Garand from CMP sometime this year now that they have them again.

not sure what else I collect, I have some military aircraft models, but that's about it.

National postalmeter. I got that puppy right before the ban in 93? Hell, I don't remember the year of Ol'Bill boys assault weapons ban. But, back to the point. I got it for $199 and three weeks later the price jumped to $299 and just kept on going. Its on a repo M1A1 stock, just cause I think it looks cool that way. Its a re-import, built in WW2 and then rearsenaled in the 60's and sent to the koreans, who in the late 80's sold them back to us.

Looks like you got a hell of a deal, I was about 3 years old at that time, but had I been born earlier I definitely would have been buying those up.I have a special love for old war-rifles that can't be replaced by any gucci'd-out AR15.

I like those paratrooper stocks for the carbines, I was thinking of getting one but I'm not sure of the wood or quality, is yours the same one they sell at cheaperthandirt?

The CMP recently got several hundred thousand M1 Carbines in 2007 shipped to them, they've been processing them and grading them and started selling the Inlands in August, ours were $495 each, since August they've sold Inlands, Underwoods, Winchesters, Quality Hardwares', and Rockolas, and are going to start selling National Postal Meters' for $575 come this August

CMP? Don't know who that is. I haven't got shotgun news for a few years. I've been spending all my extra cash on the cars for a few years now. I haven't put a round thru any of my guns for too long. I got my stock out of some place in SGN about seven years ago. The only thing I remember was the ad said Italian walnut was the wood.

Thanks.

CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) is an organization that hosts marksmanship competitions and sells WWII rifles to fund the program, if you ever want to buy an M1 Garand/Carbe/1903 (granted there are any left) they're the best people to go to. www.odcmp.com
