just saw this on another forums. and i was baffled. This is just ridiculous for FORD to make such a strong stand against this, and such a statement... Its just a freaking calendar. ohh also did yall like the picture at the top with all the censors, kinda funny...

i saw that earlier today and didnt know what it was about. You would think with Ford going down the ******* they would be a lil more customer friendly.

 

I think it is rediculous, but from a trademark and legal standpoint they are correct.

Ford doesent want people profiting off thier trademarks. understandable.

But the thing ford needs to realize is that a lot of the people who buy mustangs, well, that car isnt a ford to them, it is thier Stang. It becomes something very presonal to them.

If ford was even halfway intelligent, instead of sending thier lawyers to shut down the whole thing, they should offer to allow the users to use the trademark as long as for gets X amount of the proceeds, or, allow the calander to be made with big penalty if the owners of BMC get any profit.

We are all fans of the mustang, and ford owns the trademarks, but they should show that they are in the same corner as the fans and allow them to do these things.

Its not like somebody just made a mustang calander and is trying to get walmart to sell it.

Ford has some serious problems

On top of the insane prices they are charging for the 100's of specialty Stangs that are out right now,they are now attacking the people that have kept the Mustang alive all these years.

 

They are idiots I tell ya, I posted on the thread over on the BadMC forum when I saw it too, and now there forum is having issues pulling up...hmmm maybe some jackarse didnt get his xmas bonus and has decided to make us all pay for it!

Hell we are the marketing department for them, they could just do a cost savings and get rid of them and use our marketing of our pictures and mod madness skills and learn something from the internet forum car craze community and actually offer something worth while!

That 66 nova ss restoration project I've been wanting to tackle is looking better every day...I'm losing faith in ford, although what can you expect from the company who put a 4 banger in a sports car...Better yet, lets all take the ford logo's off of our cars. Ford drops to number 3 in the car manufacturing world and instead of reinventing and making better products to get the money flowing again, I guarantee you they want to get in on profits made from that calendar. Furthermore, any picture you take with YOUR camera, you own the copyright to that picture regardless of what is in the photo. You don't own the copyright to that ford logo on the car in that picture, but you own that picture and nobody can do anything about it. I say make the calendar....

 

BMC should sell a BMC sticker for like $15 and include a free calendar...

 

Im not surprised and I made a decision not to support Ford a long time ago when my intake cracked. Thats how I came up with my screen name and current project to Venom. Why give a company free ad. when they did not stand behind their product.

If BMC wants to fight it its real simple. Ask the memebers to remove all Ford trademarks and give no credit to Ford. If we all want to protest, do it by not advertising the trademark. Since we all dont have Black Mustangs. Lets produce BMC badges Better Motor Company badges or anything else but lets remove the free advertisement off our cars.
