you need to get a tripod and let the camera expose more light (longer aperture)

Yes, do use a tripod and a longer exposer setting. Here's my first attempt at a decent night shot. I'm gonna work on some night pics when it warms up this year..

lol longer shutterspeed not aperture. if it matters to yall i dunno. just thought id corret
You need a LARGE aperture which is a small Fstop number and a slow shutterspeed to get good exposures at night. and yes, definately need the tripizzle ma nizzle
