Greg's Rebuild thread
Welp... I'm sure everyone knows who Turd Ferguson really is... So heres an update on my car.
I thought this would be a cool thread to bring to the table... figured alot of you chowder heads would enjoy it...
Welp... for all who don't know the story, which is pretty much all you, last May I was run off the road while enroute to work.
I went off the road, and well long story short, hit a pole... fucked up my car struts forward, and fucked up my back... Best part was the assclown that ran me off the road didn't bother to stop and see if I was at least alive... I was lucky, and he was lucky he got away, I'd have killed him...
Upon arriving home, I checked everything out and the damage wasn't as bad as it looked... The frame was straight, and an hour of cutting and welding would be all thats necessary to fix the frame in front of the struts...
But to piece the car together piece by piece would cost more then the cars value... Lucky for me, my dad is a retired trooper that worked in the auto unit, so he had friends that had access to salvage auctions. I could find a parts car for under 1000 bucks easy... Unlucky for me, 5.0 sn95s are extremely rare round these parts...
So here we are... 16 months later... Today we were the highest bidder on a 94 GT vert... It costed me 675 bucks, but I got everything I need to get my car back on the road... and more... The parts car should be here by the end of the week...
So heres the pics from last May... as I make progress, I will post lots of pics... I'm stoked... :bunny3:
Heres how she was after the wrecked dropped her off in the yard...
Heres what I'm shootin' for...

oky doky...
Work on the parts car has come to a halt... Here is all the progress on the car... I uploading some pics from last Summer too so everyone can see the progress I am making... It feels so ****** awesome to look at the car and see it moving along so nicely.
So today I...
Pulled off the remainder of the accessories...
Pulled off the remainder of the motor mounts...
Pulled out the motor...
Pulled out whats left of the wire harness...
Pulled out whats left of all the ABS crap...
Next on the to-do list...
Friday and Saturday I want to drop out the H pipe, drop the tranny and check out the rear seal on it. (The yolk was pushed into it and fluid leaked out.) I also need to clean out the garage some more, clear up some room to work. Then I figure I'll pull off the bellhousing, clutch and flywheel, put the motor on an engine stand and clean that up all nicy nice. Get that ready to be rebuilt. Pull the car off the blocks, roll it out and powerwash whats left of the engine bay... Get that ready for the new frame pieces to be welded on...
All in all... I'm making progress quick... Still need that feller to come discharge the AC on the parts car so I can pull that motor and all that fun stuff...

lol... completely missed your post... lol...
When I find a good deal on a car, I scoop it up... Like the fox I bought for 500 bucks... I didnt buy it for the powertrain... but for the 100%rust free chassis... which is a rare find around here...
The BAB SN95 GT I bought for 3000 bucks with less then 70k on the clock in mint condition... Thats my pride and joy...
