Default My semi-custom intake

I Decided to do a experiment with my stock intake since i will be getting a new one in the next couple days and took a few pics of what i did let me know what yall think...
I took a cut off wheel and cut off all that was not needed to keep the seal on the intake hose and housing and also kept all the mounting and clamps. So those who are familar with what a 1997 intake on a v6 looks like you will notice that i have already removed the intake silencer and more or less removed a large portion of the top half of the intake housing... Oh and yes i know SPRINGS!!! haha coming soon i hope unless someone wants to make a donation

Here are the pics of it all mounted in... As of now no check engine light has come on and it gives it a slightly deeper tone then just removing the intake silencer... Now it was a little crude i did all this in 20 min or so and its ruff around the edges but functional i think and yes i know my engine bay is dirty as all hell haha ... What ya think? ?

interesting idea indeed... one would imagine it getting dirtier now though (not that it matters in your case) but it is also more in danger of becoming hydro locked X_X
