Not trying to be a smart ***, but what exactly is the meaning of a "functional hood scoop"? Is letting air into the engine compartment considered a functional scoop? or does some sort of vent or scoop have to be attached to the intake in order for it to be functional??

Functional - Scoops actually feed into the engine bay, scoops on SN95's are functional, scoops on our GT's are not.
Functional Ram-Air- Feeds into an air box, like the mach 1 scoop, and few aftermarket hoods. (Stormin' Norman from cervinis)
This particular one looks like it would only be funtional if it were on a 99-04... but since the airbox is right up front on the 05+ it is prolly ram-air.

That makes sense....I was confusing ram air with functional scoops...
