great!

my pops does alot of stuff with stolen cars... he's now an investigator w/ motor vehicle comision...

He recovers tons of cars... hummers, cattys, all those expensive stupid things...

he's working on a REALLY big bust with the NY state police and NYPD as well as the NJ State Police...

when it is seized it becomes government property...

generally, the gov puts it up for sale at an auction... sometimes, they keep a car for stuff like that...

When my pops was on the force the state gave him a camaro v6 which was seized from someone... the state police used it as an unmarked car...

so yes... if they wanted to do that... they most certainly could... and they did!
