Pic of the hood pin's!!

I had to have them make a special bracket for the pin's to work with my hood since it is so thick where the pin's are normally installed and alot of people wanted to see how it was done.Well here is a pic of the left side.

how much did it cost?

matrixpuba 05-07-2006 02:51 PM

you had to put your pins closer to the headlight because your hood is to thick by the rubber stopper? i dont understand. can you edumacate me.

The sides of the VIS CF hood's are very thick. The Ford Racing pin's would'nt have been long enough from the rubber stopper hole's.So they came up with the bracket idea!!

The guy's that did it were very cool. They just happened to have those laying around and did some creative fabricating and they worked!!

95bstallion 05-07-2006 03:34 PM

you didnt install them yourself:poke:. I installed my set where the plugs are at it, but i ordered mine from summit. Are you gonna shift the holes so they run the long ways of your hood or stay where there at?

Lances03SVT 05-07-2006 03:36 PM

I like them where they are at.No I did'nt install them myself.I will do almost anything but cutting into a $690 w/s hood is'nt something I wanted to have a mistake on :)

Paint your chin spoiler a glossy black or your body color. It'll set off your carbon fiber hood a lot better than the dull chin spoiler plastic.

i would love to get that hood in carbon fiber...but i gots a white car...and i dont think i would get too many compliments....besides....c/f w/ any color cept black and DSG looks rice...

still looks sexy on ur car lance!!

matrixpuba 05-08-2006 09:49 AM

i almost went with the vis cowl hood. i never heard 1 bad thing about their hood. car is lookin hot lance!!!

madmatt 05-08-2006 10:27 AM

If my car was black (wait a second...) and I had a CF hood, Id have to paint it. I can see it being left on DSG or Mineral Gray, but it is TOO gray to leave on black unpainted.

MattJ 05-08-2006 01:13 PM

ive always been afraid someone can come over and open your hood on you (provided you are gone) if you dont use the latch.
