so basically I'll just post pics in this thread throughout the process of building my foxbody. Excuse the lack of my normal photography skills in these pics, not much to work with

3/4/06 -- This is pretty much how we got the car, you can tell from the pics it needs a lot of work. Btw I paid $200 for it with a title. Going to see what we can do with the little money we have to spend on it. I ordered an 8 point roll cage for it today from Jegs for $149.99 + $89 + $9.99 for handling fees. So right now the money spent on the car is under $500. Next week the roll cage will go in and we'll get it ready for paint. It's going to be a DSG foxbody btw

Hmmmm matching stangs...I cant wait to see when you get it painted...when you planning on doing it? Theres so much you can do with it emptied out like that its not even funny

 

well, as soon as the roll cage comes in we're putting that in, and then it'll probably take about a day to get it ready to be painted, and the next day we could paint it (my dad is a body man )

 

it should be a monster since it will be carburated. there was no fuel injection for mustangs in '84. cousin had 3 84' GT's that caught on fire. keep on

Damn christie, when did you decide on getting a fox?? I need to browse the forum more often. What year is it? Is it a 4 eyed? It's going to look bad *** in DSG.

 

I have an engine and a transmission but neither is in the car right now because we want to put the roll cage in first and THEN paint it so we don't bang up the new paint in the process of installing the roll cage.


yeah its a 4 eyed 1984 lol older than me by 1 year. I HATE the 4 eyes though so I think I'm going to get the black headlight covers for it lol

 

What about some anthracite or chrome bullitts?

 

i say keep the 4-eyes, it keeps the original styling, but thats just me... add some lamps to the bottom bumper and it would look sweet

 

btw i do have the front bumper.. we just took it off to make pushing it easier lol

 

again, thats just me, cuz i really don't like the dark covers on the headlights.... only on darker mustangs...... so, if you are going to keep the paint similar to your other stang, it would look good, but with a lighter color keep the 4's... either way it's going to look very nice

Yeah the color of the foxbody is gonna be pretty similiar to my 03.. probably not AS good, cuz it's a drag car only but it'll be close enough.

Those headlights look pretty good, but I'd rather just get some cheap *** covers, I'm low budget on this thing

 

I got an email from Jegs saying the roll cage is backordered So now I dunno how long it'll be before I get to make anymore progress

 

What kind of engine and tranny you got waiting to put in?

 

just a 302 and a c4 tranny for now. we'll probably get a ford racing cam for it soon also.

 

Very nice, I want to do something like this. You MUST get a set of Kirkey seats for it. Im getting some for whatever car I make a project car, be it a fox or a 94-95. I would love to put them in my car now, but dont think thatd go over to well with the folks lol.

i almost bought a 93 4cyl to swap in a 302 a couple weeks ago. i may go back and buy it this week. i'd rather start with a 4cyl because it has less weight due to no power anything. power steering, power locks, power windows, most of the time no ac, nothing.

 

Should be fun...

 

i agree about the wheels... lightweight drag wheels with slicks. i dont care for 4 eyes, i'd probably change them or get covers if it were mine.
