03/04 heads

THIS IS NOT A PART QUESTION BUT A FORD SERVICES QUESTION:

i have been looking at this cobra for a while. its an 03 with "the tick". 14k miles. what damages can the tick cause. also i have been told that even if the warrenty ran out, that for would replace it because it was a defect. is this true? thanks in advance randy!
