They beat 3 currently ranked in the top 25 AP poll including the current #3 Virginia Tech by 41 points, #9 Florida, and #16 Tennesee. They lose to #25 Arkansas and #33 Kentucky both in triple over-time by a total of 8 points. What have you done to think you deserve a shot over LSU, because you have 1 less loss in that joke of a schedule? What is your signature win? 8-5 Central Michigan? A 7 point win over an absolutly average Texas A&M? Give me a freakin break if you played LSU's schedule you would be 7-5 at best. |

your argument is pathetic and biased towards the SEC. to hell with the SEC...they're overrated. I hope OSU kicks the living piss out of them. Im actually a Big 10 fan, I hate the SEC and hope they lose every bowl game they play. I hope Ohio State blows the door off LSU. But my arguments make alot more sense than yours. The difference between us, is you cant argue with reason. You are a Kansas fan which makes you obviously biased towards your team. You think Kansas deserves to be there even though they lost to the only good team they played, didnt win their conference, hell they didnt even win their divison in the conference. You think that teams who play no one should be rewarded for beating inferior competition. I think that a team like USC or LSU who play not only good conference teams but also good non-conference teams should be rewarded for that. Give me 1 legitimate reason why Kansas deserves to be there over LSU? Try to think past your biased with your next reply. Ill give you several why they dont. Most info from here http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/fbt07.htm There are only 3 teams in the top 50 teams in the country who have easier schedules than Kansas (Hawaii, Boise State, and Central Florida) Strength of schedule: Kansas - 88 LSU - 21 Wins over top 25 teams: Kansas - 0 LSU 3 (#2, #9, and #16) Wins over top 30 teams Kansas - 0 LSU - 4 Overall Record of teams played Kansas - 63-82 for a .434 winning percentage LSU - 88-70 for a .557 winning percentage Overall Record of conference foes Kansas - 46-51 for a winning percentage of .474 LSU - 63-46 for a winning percentage of .578 LSU won its conference while Kansas did not even with its division of its conference. The only teams imo that have a legitimate gripe are USC and Oklahoma. |

Geaux is GAY!!!!!!!!! and so is everything from Louisiana. stupid feckin cajuns. go back to france and have your damn french fries. |

Btw all those points combined are less than what you gave up to Missouri in 1 game which youre proud about. If you beat Virginia Tech, then come back and say Kansas was wronged. But until them be thankful you are even in a BCS game at all. |
Yes..LSU gave up 52 points @ home. 20 of those points also came in 3 OT's. So in reality, they gave up 32 in regulation.

mixbreed, Kansas should be lucky to have a passionate fan like you, but seriously dude, there no way on gods green earth Kansas should be ranked ahead of LSU. Darkshadow laid out the reasons why when he posted the strength of schedule information. Based on your arguement Hawaii should be ranked ahead of both of them. The problem is that if the BCS starts rewarding schools that don't play anyone worth a damn your going to have teams like USC and LSU who start playing BS teams just so they can have a 12-0 season. That's not good for college football. I totally hear you that it's not the kansas players fault their schedule sucked, but it takes time man....just be patient.
And VT will beat the piss out of Kansas....sorry to say, but they are good football team that is used to playing in big games |

And VT will beat the piss out of Kansas....sorry to say, but they are good football team that is used to playing in big games and that way they can't start having teams schedule the worst non-con teams. and i think Div 1 teams don't need to be playing Div 2 teams. that way you don't have theses little teams get stomped all the time. NCAA would also do well to break these teams up from their current conferences, and re-align the entire thing a little more fairly, and in effect do away with the Conference Championship games, and keep every team to a 12 game schedule. Or better yet, just do away with the conference's all together. Then the top 16 teams, get a playoff, the rest go home. i think it would ad so much more parity to College Football, and create a level playing field for every team...right now the playing field isn't level, because a Boise State can't win it and they were undefeated a few years ago, a Hawaii can't get in it they're undefeated this year. this year is an exception, because no one could consistently win and stay @ #1, but if you look at years past, one school can dominate for years on end. |
I don't have a problem with schools picking their own schedules. They really only get to pick 3 games and then the conference schedule is set. I understand why your bitter, but as I've said 10 times already...... Give Kansas a couple of years and if they continue to be good things will completely change for them.
I think a playoff system would be cool, but I don't think it will ever happen because there is so much tradition and $$$ involved with some of the bowls. |
i think one of the mian reasons they won't have playoffs is because the teams get a break in december in between conference championships and the bowl games.... and december means mid-term exams. means it gives the students a little bit of a break from the football...... and the traveling. and mixedbreed, i'm sorry your vagina burns. just hope VT doesn't put more sand in it. LSU on their worst day, (Kentucky,Arkansas game) would still beat Kansas.

haha, a typo. sorry i don't take this as serious as you and don't go back and spell check my posts. calling me a dumbass or LSU and Louisiana nothing but stupid cajuns does not change the fact that your team DOES NOT deserve to play in the NC. no matter how you try to spin it, no matter how much you cry, it won't change anything. Therapy may be the right solution to help control your temper tantrums, or may i suggest.... Midol.

no matter what is said you will simply resort to.... everything is stupid blah blah blah, my team got screwed blah blah blah. but face it...facts are facts. how can you expect your team to play for the NC when they lose their last game. face it your team blew it. Missouri has the biggest gripe, they should have ya'll spot. but i just don't see how you expect to play for the NC losing your last game. LSU lost to Arkansas but saved themselves by coming back and beating Tennessee and winning the conference. thats a championship caliber team for you. Getting beat.... then coming back without your starting QB and winning your conference. Kansas played what 1 good team this whole year.... and they lost. LSU played teams with Heisman contenders..... they played last years NC. you have no arguement. Worry about proving yourselves against VT. But if your team is anything like you, their heads will be soo far up their asses they will go in unprepared and get blown out.

as far as your last statement, that just show how truly ignorant you and all other SEC fans are. you all think you're high and mighty because you're in the SEC. SEC ain't jack squat. Let me know when your LSU team has 11 National Championships like Notre Dame, then you can open your mouth and brag about something. I think Ohio State really has something to prove this year, and I think they'll pull it off, might not be a beat down, or a blowout, but they'll win this game. |

The voters arent a bunch of sheep, they arent biased against Kansas. They like everyone else but you realize Kansas has shown nothing and beat no one to prove they belong. Show me 1 signature win. Just 1. Btw I do agree that the SEC was over-rated this year. But LSU is still better than Kansas, but imo Oklahoma deserved it more than LSU because they are playing better right now and beat the #1 team by 21. |
i don't disgree that LSU is not playing the best ball they can. Geogia.... Oklahoma are both looking great. but guess what, when you ahve all these 2 loss teams you have to look at something that sets them apart, not just how good are they playing NOW. LSU is undefeated in regulation. they won their conference. those 2 things sets them apart and gives them the upper hand. and you give LSU a month to get healthy and they will look like they did and the begining of the season against VT.
|
ha ha ha.....this is going to go on forever huh!
|
LSU vs USC is what i wanted to see though. that would have been an instant classic game
|
i think OU vs OSU would have been perfect. because OU did something that LSU hasn't done this year....beat a #1 team.
and for the record...the only reason i think Kansas should have been picked for the title game before LSU was because of their record. but I think OU shoulda been bumped, because they are the best team in the nation right now, and they are playing like it. |

Besides it doenst matter when you lose a loss is a loss. Saying they are undefeated in regulation is retarded. A team could be 1-11 and all loses be in OT and they also would be undefeated in regulation. Imo Oklahoma is playing the best in the country of the 2 loss teams who won their title game. |
Check this stat:
VT ranked #1 in the computer ranking with a .960 LSU ranked #2 with .950 OSU ranked #3 with .910 OU actually ranked behind Missouri and Kansas with a .800 USC wasn't even in the top 10 with a .650 I couldn't find a link, but read an article that stated that since the BCS's induction, the #1 and #2 teams in the computer rankings have played for the National Championship. Including multiple teams ranked #3 in the BCS, most recently, 03'. I'm not gonna argue with how everything went down, because it doesn't matter. I'm happy with where VT ended up, especially after that horrible night on Sep. 8. But to open your eyes a little, this BCS "system" is a joke. The title game was controlled by the coaches poll. And take a look at some of these coaches rankings, what a joke. Here's a few of my favorite polls: Bob Stoops: In order from 1 to 8, OU,OSU,Missouri,Kansas,VT,LSU,USC,UGA Good one Stoops. 3 of 4 top teams Big 12. You're a funny guy. Hal Mumme (new mexico state): Hawaii #1. That win over the Pac 10 punching bag must have been the clincher. Howard Schnellenberger (FloridaAtlantic): #2 Kansas, #3 Hawaii, #4 Missouri. Really, Howard. I guess you must have been too busy coaching Florida Atlantic to another stellar season to watch the game between Missouri and Kansas 1 week ago. Pathetic. Here's the link if you really want to see what determines 1/3 of the national championship selection: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/graph...2007/flash.htm Be sure to check out both Bowdens polls. I have no problem with LSU in the title game, but if they were really so deserving of a #2 ranking, then why were they #7 the week before? You're telling me a win vs a 3 loss #14 Tennesee was worth jumping 4 top 10 teams? OU beat a 1 loss #1, and they move 3 spots. VT beats a 2 loss #11, and they don't even move. Guess who else didn't move....IDLE Georgia. No one wants to rank LSU lower because they are playing more poorly now, but it's ok to leave Georgia in the top 4 because they are playing better now. What a joke. Either you judge what a team has done all year, or you judge what a team is doing down the stretch. Not a mixture. Had the coaches voted the way they are supposed to all year, instead of jumbling everything up and pole vaulting teams to the top on the final week, I think we'd be looking at a different contender. And before you jump all over my balls Wyte, I'm hating on the game, not the player. |
