Well, here is my intro, I dont have a mustang but am in the process of getting one. The choice is to buy a 98 cobra with 187000 miles or a 2002 v6 mustang with only 5000 miles. I really want the cobra but it needs fixing, nothing to major but I would say about 2 grand to get it in reliable state. Well thats my intro i guess.....

Welcome to mustangboards! That's quite the dillema you have there. The cobra has some serious miles but on the other hand option number two is a v6. What's your price range?

^^^^ good advice.

Welcome to the board. I would wait to find a nice car in your price range rather than rush in and buy a high mile car or one that you won't be happy with.

If you feel that you can afford the insurance of the cobra a GT should be even more comfortable for you and if you can find a 99+ GT with reasonable miles you won't suffer much performance wise as far as a 98 cobra goes and with bolt ons you sould be able to get the GT up to about 300 HP anyway
