Exclamation Totally New..

Whatsup :glasses1:

Ok, well as you can see in my title, im totally new to the whole "ford" concept. Ive been a GM man allll my life and suddely, i own a 92 1/2 5.0 LX. Soooo, here i am. Im hopin to find some help with a problem or 2 i have.

im havin trouble with my idle. I put a 70MM bbk throttle body on and did everything they told me to do. i didnt put the egr plate in but i dont see how that would matter. So anyhow, i did evetying accordingly and my car still idles just above 1000 RPM. Normally idled like 6 or 7 hundred. i got the throttle body from a car that had been wrecked :angel10: , but the kid said, his car idled high also. *before the wreck obviously* when asking what he had done, he replied by saying he had talked to someone else who had told him he needed a 70MM Mass Air Flow sensor also. Does this make sense to anyone else? is it true? If so do i have to by a diff one or can i get mine recalibrated? or who thinks its the TPS on the throttle body? someone, help!! lol :icon_pale

Did your car idle high before the TB? If not, its probably your TPS. Mine was fine after my install.

Talking

hey, i got it figured out yall, :icon_thum check it out. ok, on the tb's, theres a hole in the butterfly valve. After close observation, i notcied the hole in the 70MM was bigger than the one in the stock tb. after more observation, i noticed the hole had looked like it was "reemed" or drilled out...scratches alllll over the plate surrounding the hole. SO, i plugged the hole using an oring and a BIG headed bolt and then locktighted the nut on to prevent all hell from happening..suckin that nut in the motor. ohhh lord!. so anyhow, redrilled a new hole in the valve the saaaaaaaaaame size as stock, made sure my tps was at .9, and put everything together. Fired that mother up and badaboom! :icon_rr: it idles like stock. :icon_smil
