Thumbs up What's Up

What's going on guys/gals!

My good friend 02gtpit is a member here & recommended me to register.

As for my ride it's just your average 97 Gt with boltons with 300 hp/tq to the wheels. I've had alot of fun with this car & learned a lot playing around with her. I'll have to dig up some pics of her and post them.

Welcome,Iam currently doing a 4v swap and good to see you have done your 2nd what happened to the early 4v motor? What was the most difficult part of the swap? I have lived most of my young life around towns on the Hudson River across from the city.

Thanks for the war welcome!

At the time, I had thought the main bearings were bad. I could'nt wait the months required to have the motor rebuilt so I purchased the 01 motor. Come to find out it was broken lifter & I had messed up the chain tensioners as well. I still have the 98 motor and that is getting freshened up with nice internals for boost later on.

The physically most difficult part of the swap for me was taking off the d*** passenger side motor mount :censored: Second was disconnecting the h-pipe from the driver side header. Both of those were stuck like a *****!!

For the most part the swap is very straight forward, it was very easy taking the engine/tranny out in one piece. I had to reuse my return style fuel rail and modify the posts to fit the 01 cobra intake **make sure to use fuel hoses for the rear connection**. Also had to lenghten a few wires.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask

Another question, did you have to change the hood for clearance issues?
