Well, I went to 148, but pic is at 142. That was on the very long and lonely straight part of I-10 between El Paso and San Antonio and only a one-time thing. That's the most depressing strip of road in the country. I hate leaving San Antonio and seeing that sign, "El Paso 558 miles".

the 2nd day i had mine i went 145mph in 4th. But like everyone says these things are not stable at those high speeds. You can feel the back lifting with more and more mph.

I was in 5th and that was before my 3.73s were installed.

Just for fun, I used one of those speed/gear calculators from TCH Racing to see what a GT could potentially do. It seemed pretty accurate to me at lower speeds and rpms. I checked 5th gear top speeds with rpms at pretty much redline (6000). Excluding the limits of aerodynamics and engineering, you could potentially hit 225.932mph with stock gearing and 198.069 with 3.73s. That's insane and could never happen, but it was neat to check out. I haven't been over 100pmh since I changed my gears, but acceleration was really slow after shifting to 5th; even at 100+mph. I'm sure it's better now though.

Like other people said, the car did feel a bit unstable to say the least. That's why I tried it out in the middle of nowhere. There was straight road to the horizon and no cars in sight. I'm lucky that I didn't hit a bird or something trying to cross the road.

On the last "fun run" slash cruise i went on. We averaged our "spirited" driving at around 125mph. Top speed i probly hit was over 140. For a while there i stayed constant at 130-135ish for a minute or so... But see i'm in overdrive the whole time. And you wouldn't think it helps, but that steeda wing is really aerodynamic, planted my 275's nice and firm up top, and i was smooth sailing over 120mph.

Pegged the speedo at 150 once. I was in 5th gear at about 4200rpms trying to catch up with a Cobra.

I take it you slowed down to 142 to take the picture, because 148 was too dangerous.

I've taken mine up to 146 with only the catback and tuner on it. That was in 4th gear redlined. And I'm glad you slowed down to take the picture, b/c 148 is way too fast to not look at the road while driving. Good job!

I can about imagine how long it took you guys to get to those numbers, my car won't go much over 125 but it will go 109 in a 1/4 of a mile....

In a DOHC with my SCT tune, i was running a Honda 600 F4I from a 80 mph roll, and he pegged at 162 and i passed him at lil b4 160 he said, so i would say i was at about 164 and still moving pretty good when i let off. Mach suspension was pretty damn stable though. Back end felt a tad light but not dangerously light. Now in my moms GT, 148 in 4th and when going to 5th no more pull.

162 on a 600 F4I?????? Don't think so!!!!!! I have a ZX10R and it shows 189 on the speedo, and I'm only doing 174mph. There is no way a 600 will do 162!!!!!!!!!!! :loser:

Well, I was accelerating at the time I took the pic. I had both hands on the wheel and my camera phone in my right hand. I planned on getting a picture ahead of time. It's one of those newer phones that has a 1.3 MP camera, like you need a 1.3 MP camera on a phone. I have a button on the side of the phone that I can use to take the pic in addition to the ok/enter button on the face of it. Basically, only my right thumb came off the wheel...not that it was completely safe with that added thumb at 140+
