Default Gear install?

Does anyone know how much it would cost to install 4.10's or 3.73s? is this something i can do myself or what? And what are the benefits of new gears? (I have Auto)

you are about the 70,000th person to ask this question. use the search button, or better yet, read the official gear thread that i made, took pics of my car with, and included all the information you need to know.

yeah.. it's definately something you don't wanna do yourself unless you do know what you're doing, you have to shim the gears and be very precise or they will whine/wear too quickly

By the time everything is said and done...expect to have about $800 or more in the swap...BUT...it is the most bang for $800 ou could ever expect!

First of all, get 4.10's With an auto, you don't even want to consider 3.73's.....a good shop will cost about $200-$300 for the install.....(If in the KC area, I had mine done for $200)...another $200 for gears, $350 for a tuner, $50 for lube, gaskets, misc crap....
