What will be an estimate of my paint job convertible???? i already went to 2 places estimates where....2500 and 3,000-4000....? dosent really have damage in the car..... now can i go like 5 layers of paint and like 3 clear coats... or how does this work?........the more layers the better????!??!?!!?

 

Unless you have a body shop friend, you get what you pay for in paint jobs. I would say 2500-3000 for a decent non-color change paint job with very little body work. As for # of layers, it depends on how many are already on the car. My camaro has 4 base, 3 clear but it depends on the painter also and how well it covers. You want a thick clearcoat but not too thick. A layer will prob be removed when the car is buffed. Go to a bodyshop you know and look at some of the other cars they've painted.
