take your wheel off one at a time and push up on your calipers to produce the effect of a bumpy road.

make sure your car is really secure.

I don't see how you can do anything in the back of a mustang, the only thing I use the back seat for is luggage....

Balljoints? I thought they are only in the front. Sometimes when it's cold i get a squeeking noise from the rear right wheel for the first 1/2 block of driving. Then it goes away. It's probably something with the traction control, or maybe just the brakes or axle being cold.

Exactly. I got confused because she was talking about ball joints, then about the rear wheel.

There are no ball joints in the rear only in the front. So which is it front or rear that is squeaking?

Does it go away when you apply brakes. Have you done any work on springs, control arms, ureathane bushings or exhaust. Exhuast could be rubbing, bushings could be binding on control arm, isolators could be toast and l is rubbing on perches. Also check the rear shocks and quad shocks.

Sorry was thinking front end for the ball joints (correction, only in front), could be the shocks in the back.

only thing done is the springs.. my dad thinks it's the bushings rubbing though, but it could also very well be the exhaust because we had some issues on that side. I'll check it out tonight and let you guys know what I see

Hey i had that EXACT same problem in the same spot, and i took it to the dealership and it was the exhaust rubbing against the frame. Cost me 70 for them to tell me that. I bet it's the exhaust. Mine squeekd all the friggin time

Exhaust? Mine did it stock before any mods were done, and still does it. My squeak however would go away if it was raining or the roads were wet. My dumb *** took mine to a dealer. I dropped it off the night before and then the next day it rained. so they had my car all day just to give it back and say they didn't hear nothing wrong. Try WD-40 on your rear swaybar bushings and trailing arm bushings, then drive it. see what that does. Also try your rear brakes. does the sound go away when you brake?

My Suburban started to squeak really bad when going over bumps, and then when just driving. A mechanic took a needle and injected some grease into one of the rubber boots on either the shock or the boot and the squeak has been gone for a year+

well last night we put it in the garage and made the car bounce and it wasn't making the noise, we looked to see if the exhaust looked like it had been rubbing and everything looked ok. We took it for a spin today and no squeaking lol. I let my dad drive it by himself to see if it was a weight thing and nothing. I dunno lol

He looked underneath again and the exhaust isn't rubbing we don't think.. we did notice my gear box was leaking! so we tightened that up

Is it more of a rattle or clunk?

Bad sway bar endlinks are notorious to make a clunk/squeak sound when going over bumps.
