Default Headers Question

Which headers are good to get for my 03 GT? I was thinking of buying bassani, because i wanted to go with bassani all thru and thru! But i hear everyone loves these certain LONGTUBE headers, and say they are the best! Which brand to look for, where can i find them, why are they the best, and i hear they scrape or hit the ground real easy?? Is that true?? Especially wont be good, when i decide to lower the car too! Definately no good!! So any comments!! thanks!

Longtubes are just the length of the header. they run lower so you might scrape over big potholes and big speed bumps and stuff.

as per which brand? its more like how much do you wanna spend? me i would only use macs cause they are cheap and get the job done. for the price of a shorty h-pipe and long tubes i would still be spending less then these guys with slp etc....... thats just me i dont need shinny headers to make me fast, but if you can afford it then you should as they will last longer and look nicer but the extra 1-2 hp they make over macs isnt worht it to me at all.

I've had a full Bassani exhaust for eight months now and it still looks great.Installation though, was just as hard as long tubes.I started the job but got stopped by my lack of patience and 1/4 inch extensions. It can be done but plan on removing the K-member to be able to get at the header bolts on the passenger side at least. The driver side is a little easier.I wrongly thought because the Bassani set up came in separate tubes that they could be threaded up through the maze under the car but that is not the case. They are a quality part.MM&FF did a test using the catted X-pipe on a stock 02 Mustang and picked up 17 RWHP and 17ft/lbs of torque.

Well i have no problem with the price, as you can see i have a bassani cataback/x but what would be the difference in power between the bassani and longtube headers!?

dont they only make shorties or there mid-length style headers still?
i am pretty sure they dont make long tubes, so there will be a slight difference in power (i dont know how much) but i cn bet money long tubes will make more power but i dont think it would be by much.

I have SLP longtubes, but was limited in my options as I have an auto and only certain LT would fit. If I was to do it again I would of waited and installed a power adder before the LT's. now I'm saving for a blower and wish I would of had that extra 1200 bux!

Longtubes are popular becuase they make the most power. Thats why people love them the add a nice boost in power over shorty headers or mid length liek bassani.

But yes he had the mids with there x-pipe and liked them alot. he only sold them recently for liek 500 for both headers and midpipe i almost bought them but i hate the sound of a x-pipe so i passed.

How much power from the longtubes? Is it very noticable from mid length or shorties? bad move! you should have bought his bassani x n catback, sounds great!
