Default Advice needed for 5 spd manual

Here is my prob. I have an 04 GT, manual tranny with 1800 miles. when I shift to 2nd and sometimes 3rd gear it wants to grind. I have missed 2nd gear a couple of times while driving before this started. It seems to clear up after I have driven a few miles and everythng is warmed up. I am pushing the clutch all the way in, but still has that sync ring grind to it. I even wait a few seconds
between shifts. It seems to go away after a few miles and everything is warmed up. Could this be a clutch/shifter adjustment issue?? Or have I possibly warn out my clutch already? I dont ride the clutch when I can help it.. Thanks for any info or input.

Sounds like you're having the standard Tremec 3650 problems. Go to www.stangnet.com or www.modulardepot.com for more information on it and the TSB Ford has out for it.

Yup, its a very common problem. Your 5spd Stang is considered abnormal if it doesn't have it.

You just need to go to ford and have the tranny TSB done it replaces the shift forks, snyncros etc... the stock 3650 has copper or brass fitting and they shrink when cold and that makes it act weird till it warms up. just go get the TSB and it will be all gravy.

There is a good thread to show you how big the problem is. I think they explain the TSB in there somewhere, but anyways. You just need to take it into the dealership and tell them what it is doing, they will take care of it for you. If they do not then bring up the fact that there is a TSB for it and they will look it up. They should be aware of this issue by now... good luck with that.
