Question Does the K $ N Filter work?

I did the mod where you take out the inner lineing and was debating on getting a K&N Filter today. Does this almost $50.00 filter make that much od a difference? Or should i wait until i changr the TB & Plenum.

Somewhere I read did a test with installing JUSt the tb/plenum with no other mods and they said there was actually like a 2hp decrease, but once they put in the k & n, they noticed a big difference. I guess you can think of it like having a bigger neck, but keeping the same sized mouth. A big neck helps nothing without a bigger mouth.

The way I look at it, it made me faster, of course, not by increased flow, but the weight loss from my wallet... Nah, I would say buy one if you plan to keep the car for a long time, cause you can just re oil it for a million miles.

Well, consider this. When you replace your factory air filter, you're spending about $15-20, so why not get the K&N. It pays for itself in two regular change intervals, and it's a better filter. That's the way I justified the $50 to my wife.

Over oiling is what causes MAF contamination. This can be cleaned off using spray electrical cleaner.Get the K&N,or SB filters also makes a good filter for about $10 bucks less.I have one from SB.

With k&n its a common problem regardless of over oiling, under oiling, or even just right.

I have a K&N Filter for the Mustang GT / Cobra with 7,000 miles if you want it. I'll sell it for $25 shipped.
