Quick Question.

If I wanted to lower my 2004 GT with H & R Race Springs would I need anything else since I'm lowering it or should it be fine?

Lances03SVT 09-15-2005 01:31 PM

You should be fine.I just changed my springs. You do mean the H&R sports right?

White04GT 09-15-2005 01:39 PM

nah, I meant H % R Race... they have them on

http://www.tirerack.com/suspension/S...lar=&brand=all

but yea I don't know if I'm going to order Sports or Race yet.

White04GT 09-15-2005 01:41 PM

ahhh!! yea I see what you meant about the Sports..If I was to order the H & R Sport's I wouldn't need to change my shocks/struts..okay nvm-.-

Lances03SVT 09-15-2005 01:45 PM

You will get alot better ride with the sports and a real good drop. That is what I have.

Normally when you lower you car, it will put more stress on your shocks/struts. I know alot of people go with some sort of adjustable struts when they lower their cars. If you get a big enough drop, you will need CC plates! I have about a 2 1/4" drop and went with strange 10 wy adjustable struts and a set of CC plates! :)

Lances03SVT 09-15-2005 01:48 PM

Damn 2 1/4,you would have to change alot of stuff with that much of a drop.

White04GT 09-15-2005 01:50 PM

Lance how big of a drop did you go with? I want a nice noticeable drop but not something that is going to scratch my car up everytime I hit a speed bump or try and go up a steep driveway..

D&D Full front tubular suspension, Upr steel 3 bolt caster camber plates, and the strang 10 wy adjustable seem to work pretty good! The good thing about coil overs is that they are adjustable, which means i can lower it or raise it anytime i want with a turn of wrench! ;)

Mine is about 1.6 all the way around with the H&R sport springs.Don't have that big of a problem with the drop but you do have to slow down for speed bumps and a steep driveway but alot of it is because of the Chin spoiler sitting so low.

did you guys get your car aligned afterwards? I waited until I got new tires put on and then I did it immediately after, but they said it wasn't even that bad /shrug

Lances03SVT 09-15-2005 03:42 PM
