Weight advantage goes to the mach...both cars are pushing close to 300 to the wheels and the mach has 3.55 gears. It will be close, drivers race for sure.

Still drivers race....the GT will not destroy the mach if that's what you want to know. Both cars are solid mid to upper 13's in the quarter mile with street tires.

I hate to go the other way but, I'm going with the GT on this one if both drivers were equal.

The mods do almost nothing for the GT...no offense, but speaking from personal experience. The tune is the best thing he's got, the CAI and TB will do almost nothing unless you're running cams/heads or boost.

The mach is pretty stout from factory compared to the heavy S197s, so I give the advantage to him.

Especially if the GT has 3.27 gears.

Lightweight 4V FTMFW!!! lol

He said the GT had 3.73's though. 4.10's would seal the deal but 3.73 and a tune would tip it for the GT i think

Ohh I didn't know if that was for certain or not.

Yea, with 3.73s I'd give the advantage to the GT.

I raced an 09 Gt with 4.10s in my 99 Cobra that only had an intake and exhaust. I beat him by about 2 cars on top. A 4v just sucks at low end so it took me a while to reel him in. The Gt was an auto though.

Mach has the weight the gearing isnt that far apart 3.55 vs 3.73 and i think the mach will put a little more power to the rear wheels. Plus its been said in a few places that the Shaker actually helps airflow at about 80-100+ which would be at the end of a 1/4 mile race. I think the mach makes more torque too.

haha, I wouldn't exactly call 3500lbs light. Plus the 09 GT is about 100lbs. lighter than the 03 Mach 1. I would still say it almost comes down to the driver and who can launch better.

Ummm....I think you're backwards there..

The S197 is a heavier platform by about 150 lbs.

A 4v is leaps and bounds better than the 3v, in stock form. The torque of the 4v would give it the win from almost any situation. Seen it happen time and time again. It takes a pretty nicely modded S197 to beat even a stock Mach 1.

Actually the 09 GT is 3356lbs, and the Mach 1 is 3465lbs. I won't argue that the 4V is better than the 3V, but a slightly modded 09 GT and stock Mach 1 would come down to the driver. I'll give the top end to the Mach though.

LOL! You've got to be kidding me....an 09 GT is not under 3400 lbs. My car with me in it weighed 3640 and I only weigh 150 lbs.

A Mach 1 is not going to weight less than an 09 GT, there is no way in hell. Mach 1s have the aluminum block first of all and is a smaller chassis/body overall. Both have an SRA so there is no physical way it could weigh more.

The Termi weighs about 3600 without me in it, and I know for a fact that a Mach 1 weighs a good 250 lbs less than it because of the aluminum block and the SRA.

You're right, a Mach 1 isn't going to weigh less than a 09 GT.The 09 GT is lighter dude. The termi is a fat *** at 3665 lbs. My 2000 GT weighs 3241 lbs. I wouldn't be pulling these random *** numbers out of my head. Obviously I looked them up and that's what I've found.

Somewhere Ford shaved some weight.

Funny. I made a mistake there.

But do you see the physical points that make that impossible? An iron motor, a bigger chassis and body, there is no way it can be heavier. I know the Termi is a fat *** that was just using the same body style as an example, but why should the Mach 1 weigh 400 lbs more than your GT when it has a more lightweight block and the same overall setup? Lol.

Your facts are very skewed. I have no idea where you are getting those from, but I've personally had my GT weighed in person and I showed you that it weighed 3640 with me in it.

There is no way a Mach 1 weighs more than an S197. It literally is lighter in every way possible. Somewhere your facts are very off.

I understand what you're saying, but dong google searches on specs for both cars, that's what I've found. And the Mach is only 200lbs heavier than my car. Do some searches and see what you can find. I can have my friend check his dads Mach and see what the weight says. If you want to know something that's disturbing, our toyota highlander weighs the same if not a tad less than a 05 GT500.

But a GT500 IS heavy as ****. Although the regular GT isn't that far behind.

5.4 liters of pure iron will make anything heavy lol.
