I had a short in the wire from alternator that has been repaired. Now the car won't charge. If I jump it,it will run until cables are removed. When the short happened there was a audible pop. Sounds like I need a alternator. Wanted to get more opinons. I have checked all connections and the fuse's. Will take alternator to Advance or similar this week but thought you all might have opinon

 

Sounds like the alternator or regulator has took a dump. Just have AutoZone test it.

 

Yep, my first step would be to have the alt checked.
