Default Clutch Pedal Question

I just got my car back from the shop where I had a new clutch and flywheel installed.

The clutch grabs great, but I am wondering how the heck do I adjust it so that it engages/disengages after a little more press of the pedal. Right now, I only have to press about an inch or two for it to fully disengage, and when I release the pedal, it feels as if it doesn't fully engage even with the pedal at full up. There is also severe pedal vibration.

In the Haynes, it says that the pedal is self adjusting... just pull it up to the full up position... this didn't work for my problem.. any suggestions?

You have to buy an adjustable clutch cable and solid quadrant kit. You can also add a firewall adjuster so you don't always have to get under the car to adjust it.

Sounds like your using the stock clutch quadrant and cable. And it also sounds like they didn't reset the stock quadrant when they installed the clutch so its got way to much tension on the cable and its not fully releasing.

You can do two things here. One is to go in and take the clutch cable off the clutch fork and reset the quadrant. However depending on what clutch you got the stock clutch quadrant, and adjuster kinda suck when used with better performance clutches. So you might want to grab a firewall adjuster and clutch quadrant like the Steeda setup for example which I personally have and like.

Adjustable cables suck and don't bother with them if you ask me.

please listen to dustin...i have an adjustable cable from steeda for about 8k miles and the ****** is stretching bad, to the point where i haev it adjusted at the firewall almost all the way out and still grabs close to the bottom...its at the point where pushing in the clutch all the way its still trying to engage and keeps me from getting into gear right in the middle of traffic. save yourself the personal inevitable aggravation and stick with the ford cable, but by all means get the firewall adjuster and the aluminum quadrant.
