Can the stock rear-end handle it?
Okay so the car should be done in about a month or so, and the mods are in my signature. Should be making 600-650 rwhp through my built auto. My question is will the stock rear end handle the power without breaking? Howmuch can it handle?

If you plan on doing any racing, then no. The stock 28 spline axles won't hold up either. I would go with at least an Auburn Pro series. I have seen the standard Auburn unit break behind a blown 306 running about that much power. I have a couple of friends with the Powertrax unit as well. One is in a truck and sounds and feels like factory but the other is in a "95 Cobra R SCCA car with a blown 377 pushing around 700 hp. My uncle installed it in our shop and complained about it sounding clunky and noisy. If you're just planning on cruising, I wouldn't expect anything catostrophic to occur with the stock one other than the clutch plates wearing out pretty quick. But with all that stuff on yours, I'm sure you're headed to a track so you might as well add a set of 31 spline Moser alloy axles and a good differential.

Alright thats what I was expecting to here. I don't plan on going to the track for a few more months when I get the car back. Probally wait for it to get pretty cold. The car is my daily driver so I don't want to beat the **** out of it, so as far as it seeing the track will be pretty rare. I am glad to know that it will hold up for every day driving. I will deffiantly have to put some money aside in savings for when the rear end decides to take a ****.

Not sure howmuch it's going to run. I broke the converter so had to replace that, and I am still waiting for the machine shop to finish up the motor, hopefully sometime in August I will have the car back. I will let you know my guess is with the Kenne bell, the longblock, converter, and 03-04 cobra fuel system upgrade I am looking to spend close to 14-15k with pats and labor.

It's a lentech street terminator transmission with a PI multidisk converter with a 3600 stall. PSI motorsports in Houston Tx has done all my work and tuning.
