Default intake and plenum combo

What combo do you have? Just curious what everyone is running. Just from searching the forums it seems like everyone loves accufab or c&l and JLT cai or rai.

I just ordered the JLT rai from american muscle and the trick flow plenum and 70mm tb combo from summit racing. This was something on my to do list that kept getting put off because I know it isn't going to gain me a lot for the money. But when I found the trick flow combo selling for $250 I figured why not. It's the last bolt on I'm buying before getting a tune.

I made 248rwhp/285tq with the mods in my sig and no tune recently so with this and a tune I'm hoping to be around 265/300. That will satisfy me for a while.

I have the Accufab 70mm combo on my 99GT. I didn't notice any feel in power gain. Although I can hear a slight whistle of air when I open it up. I'm waiting to install my nitrous before I get a dynotune.

I'm running an Accufab 75 tb and Accufab plenum. It seemed to make the most power based on my research.

Im also running a 70mm accufab combo. Not huge power difference but I could feel a little bit in throttle response.

I have a 70mm TB and a C&L copy of their plenum. Can't tell a whole lot of a difference, but I got it used for just over $100 to my door.

That's a steal! I looked around for used but couldn't find any for a descent price. I found some professional products stuff around but I've heard some horror stories about their tb's and overall fitment. When I saw trick flows combo for $250 figured I would give it a try. Heck Summit Racing has a trick flow rai, tb and plenum combo for $399. I would have went with that but I had a $15 coupon for AM and I've heard great things about JLT.

I just put the UPR 75m with matching plenum and CAI on and it looks good and throtle response is much better. Fix and finish is great. Got it all used for $200.00 and have to say well worth the money.

Stock is where it's at...

I'm probaly going to get a TrickFlow plenum just because it's the only one I know of that comes powdercoated black, other than that dumb BBK 78mm part. And doesn't matter to me which TB, probably TrickFlow for that too just to match.

Yeah I looked for used stuff first but all I could find was professional products stuff. I would have bought the black trick flow plenum but summit didn't have them. I got a quote to powder coat the plenum and tb for $50 from a local guy that does awesome work. I may end up doing that later down the road. For now I don't really care. Just want to get this stuff on so I can get my tune and my a/f fixed.

Are you getting a check engine light? I would lean towards a vacuum leak and or a incorrectly set TPS sensor.

spike_africa: I thought the same thing but can not find a leak and the check eng light is not on. When driving I can here a sound. I think it is a leak but have checked every thing and can not find it.

I think the sound is more air flowing. I have that after doing mine. Sounds like a slight hissing

i installed an accufab 75mm throttlebody and plenum and love it. the throttle response is tight. no big hp gain. yea, i lost gas milege too, but like audi said, I catch myself bangin it harder since i put it on. I like the extra air flow sound!!!

Mine makes no extra air sound and I don't see why an aftermarket one would more noise. If you hear an air noise I would look for leaks.

I agree with Spike. Mine makes no more noise than the stock piece did. If you're hearing air I would check for leaks as well.

well, after hearing from a couple of ya,s bout and air leak, i ran a check, no leaks. contacted americanmuscle and explained the increased air noise i hear. its a louder than stock whistle when i tromp down and keep the r.p.m's up. perfectly normal with the set up i run is what they told me. good to know its ok.
