Safe to put much power under a convertible
Hey everyone, didn't really know where to put this so i hope i guessed right. I am just wondering if it is safe to put very much power under a 2004 convertible GT. I have heard that because of the soft top it is not as strong as a hardtop and might warp the frame.
def, what he said. get the full length ones steeda makes. they come with plates that get welded onto your torque boxes and really re-enforce the undercarrige.
You can add as much power as you want too. You just have to stiffen up the chassis to accommodate the power. Only downfall with a vert is the extra weight otherwise you can toss as much power at them as a coupe.
Yeah, its a 2004 gt convertible. The reason I want to do this safely is cause I bought this thing lol and in highschool that meant a lot of time and effort finding a good job and working for it. Thanks for the quick replies and advice guys
It's alright, way too many rules for my liking... but I have made it this far so I am gonna finish it out there... maybe ill see you around town. What color is your stang? I have a 2004 gt convertible with a black top.
