Default rear end snap with nitto555r

I was at the track the other day talkin to a guy with a full exhaust and he told me that he snapped his rear end lauching on nitto drag radials. Is this really possible with basically stock HP. or has anyone ever had this problem.

Yep, our rear ends arent all that strong. Its recommended that you upgrade to something like spine 31s to take that.

yeah its possible. the 8.8 isnt that weak by the way. its like any rear end thats stock if you shock it hard with a manual you could snap a axle. i wouldnt be to worried though. I have a good 100passes or more on my rear with nittos. the breaking rang from what i have gathered is anything faster than 1.8's will snap a stock axle. this isnt science just from what i have gathered most people snap axles when there 60' goes into the 1.79 and faster rang.

a guy i know snapped his stock axel with just a couple bolt ons on street tires... but then again he launched it at 5k.

I run the 555r's and have a lot of bolt ons and haven't had any problems yet, but I do plan to upgrade to a 31 spline in the near future
