Exclamation CYlinder Misfire!!

Hey guys was coming home today from the girlfriends house and car just started running like ****. It started shaking if I went like over 30 miles per hour soon the check engine light came on. Anywho got home checked it with my predator and it showed cylinder 3 misfire what could this be? I was driving it hard or anything when it started doing this do you think maybe a ignition coil or spark plug or what? any ideas?

try changing the COP and see if the misfire moves to... if it does its probably the COP that has gone bad, replace it and your done... i think i read somewhere that you can do that....

yeah, my car started to miss fire once, and it pissed me off soo bad, for me it turned out to be that on #8 cylinder had gotton water on the plug wire, creeped up it and started to corrode at the top of the spark plug..

Dont replace anything yet. Theres ways to diagnose the problem and figure out exactly what it is. Switch around the COP like SxyXc said and report back.

Well got it fixed. Today after work I just said f*ck it and went and bought the ignition coil. Came home got to work on it got frustrated some lol and took out the plug. The plug was kinda moist with what seemed like water it had started to form a little rust on it. I cleaned it up nicely and put the oil coil back in the and BAM it worked good. Gave it a few test tries of driving it round the block and seemed like its ok. Checked with the tuner also and no misfire so I think am good. I think moisture maybe was from when i washed my engine 3 days ago but wouldnt the moisture in the plug cause a prob right then and there?

I used to pressure wash my engine, but I avoid that now. Heard of way too many problems after people do that. Now I just do it by hand.
