The Superchips Max Tuner is very easy to use. I've stuck with that one since I spent 340.00 on it. I did have problems with it though, I sent it back to Superchips to have it reflashed. You can call Superchip if you have problem with it and they will help out. The only thing with tuners is that everytime you have an upgrade done you have to send it back to the company. Now a computer chip is good as well from what others have said. The beast thing to do is take your car to the dragstrip and get some times before you put a tune in or a chip. So that way you can see if their is a difference. Check the thread Need to find the power Saturday night. I'll be posting my times with the Tuner mod and without it. Good Luck

Those prices are insane! Incidently, I think these two products have a different market. I use SCT primarily so I can have different tunes.

By insane, I meant LOW! The programmer usually sells for $400 - $425 and the chips are $325, that is the Four Position Flip Chip. Not sure if that is the same chip that he quoted.

One thing to keep in mind with SCT or any mail order tuner is the experience that the tuner has and his ability to select the proper tune. However, with a bolt-on or stock car, it probably does not matter too much.

I went to school at SCT and im certified for tuning. Most tuners out there are not certified, they just been doing it so long and have a name for them.

I'm ready for some answers why is it that I run faster without the tuner than I do stock. I'm starting to dislike Superchips

should I just send them the tuner and give a list of all mods I've done and they can reprogram the thing for my car? I've already sent the thing back once for faulty tuner.

IMO both tuners are very good and you couldnt go wrong with either. I chose the Predator for it's better diagnostic capabilities. The Predator can read and clear OBD II codes and it it has Datalogging capabilities that can be used on any Ford EEC V vehicle. I use the Predator for diagnosis almost every day at work. At this time I dont think the SCT Tuner has datalogging?? As for custom tunes I think the quality of the tune comes more from the person writing the tune than the brand of equipment he/she is using.

Ya SCT is a good program. When all the mods are giving to the dealer, the programmer or chip will be burnt to spec and will be the closest to perfect air/fuel without using a dyno tune. I really like my tune. I got 299.9 RWHP with tune weld in flows and drop in K&N filter in my mach 1 .

I like my predator and RWTD gives you tunes over the internet. The tunes have made my car feel much quicker and the price was good for me at 325

Red

Well another bad day at the track so I've given up with the tuner. The guys at superchips not SCT said to send them the tuner and they will make some changes for my tuner. I'm going to get some time here at a dyno to see my gains from my mods.--before mods where done 244 at the rear hopefully be better after the mods and then hopefully a new program can put me where I want to be. My local SCT dealer said it will cost me almost 500 big ones to get the new tuner and an hour @ the dyno. Do you have a better price than 425 for a custom tuner?

I have the crappy max micro tuner from Superchips. Not too happy with that but I'm getting the SCT Tuner next week. I"m going thru a dealer here in Delaware. He is going to get me some DYNO time for me as well to get the full tune. But can the max tuner be programed as well or is that different stuff. cause I'll send it to ya if you can programit for me. It would save having to buy another tuner.
