I recently got a 2003 GT. Great condition, clean carfax, under 50k miles, no problems with the engine or transmission. I have a few questions regarding the sounds it makes. The start up noise ( when I turn my key fully and hear the engine go on) sometimes sounds faulty. In many cases I will turn the ignition and hear my car fire up right away, and sometimes It will be a prolonged noise that will start the car, but isnt as complete sounding as a regular start up.

Also, when my car idles, and my foot isnt on the gas, I can hear a slight noise coming from the front of the car (im guessing the engine). It is very minor, and I cannot hear it unless everything is muted, but it sounds like the air conidtioning or heat is on low. Thats the best way to describe it. Overall these dont appear to be major problems, but just curiosities for me. I am a new mustang owner, so Im just wondering. Its probaly the big *** v8 sitting 3 feet infront of me, but I just want to make sure.

 

Impossible to tell without hearing it in person. The sound could be the air rushing in to the intake. I have no clue. I've got sounds and stuff comming from my car all the time, I just leave it be .

 

I have this problem too when u want to start it. It does not start quickly. This does not happened a lot. It was doing this yesterday but this morning it was fine
