I have a 2004 GT usual bolt ons going to step up to sc pro charger motor being built up.Cant afford hole rear now is their a t lock for stock axles,or should I sit back and wait on rear.

Randy Stinchcomb 09-20-2008 04:48 AM

if you have a GT you already have a T-loc

lewis 09-20-2008 04:59 AM

Miss spoke

Need posi unit as it sits now traction control just makes the big s on take off stay controlable I have a big need to launch straighter,Car get about 10 miles a month and as it gets more aggresive that goes down Runs a solid high 12 but feels like I'm losing so much on launch.Anything that will help cause with a pro charger coming it will get worse.

spike_africa 09-20-2008 06:14 AM

I'm confused you are getting the traction control light on your launches so you want a better posi?

lewis 09-20-2008 06:17 AM

Traction control not keeping the car straight enough on a hard launch with sticky nittos car is sideways thru 60 ft traps in 3rd it goes to opposite ide

what are your mods? sounds tome like you need some suspension and chassis work, a set of real rear tires (slicks) or ALL the above.....

lewis 09-20-2008 06:44 AM

Randy 4:10 gears 70 throttle body accufab plenium slp Lt catted xpipe Lm2s ported tfs intake mac cai predator tune under drive pullies. I'm not orignal owner friends say cams sound non stock.

Randy Stinchcomb 09-20-2008 07:10 AM

what is your 60' what size are the DR's, how much psi in them?

lewis 09-20-2008 07:16 AM

1.5 60 ft 315/35/17 run about 22 psi have varied psi up and down

Randy Stinchcomb 09-20-2008 07:45 AM

1.50 60's and this car has "usual bolt on's" and this car is N/A? am I missing something here?

lewis 09-20-2008 07:54 AM

Randy thats my problem being the second owner runs great no traction on take off. It is na cams sound beefed but at 1280s not complaining just thinking if it hooked how much better it could be.New motor being built hopefully I will have a answer why this one runs so strong.By top end I don't see anything that special.Friends have almost the same set up and push for a mid 13.Guess when this motor is torn apart I will see if the bottom has had work.

Randy Stinchcomb 09-20-2008 08:02 AM

let me sea if I got this straight, your pulling 1.50 in 60' on a "35" series D/R, spinng 1st, 2nd and into 3rd, and running 12.80's N/A? at what miles per hour?
something doesn't sound right, esp those 60' times:confused:

lewis 09-20-2008 08:05 AM

104 mph

Randy Stinchcomb 09-20-2008 08:13 AM

and your dead-sure those 60' ET's are 1.50 and not 2.50:confused:

Steeda97 09-20-2008 08:38 AM

lol. post the time slip.

bassman97 09-20-2008 08:45 AM

When you drag race, you NEVER leave the TC on. It's more of a PITA than help. What you want for better traction is suspension work. Boxed control arms, stiffened chassis/torque boxes, drag shocks/springs, etc. That will help the hook up a ton. The way you would tell if you posi is out is w/ the TC off, if you do the the one-wheel peal, then you need a new one. However, you can just rebuild it instead of getting a new one.

As for the times, 1.5 60' is pretty damn amazing for a NA car, so amazing that it's suspicious.

Steeda97 09-20-2008 08:48 AM

Judging by his car and mods, if he had a 1.5 60' he'd be doing way better than 12.80s.

Randy Stinchcomb 09-20-2008 09:11 AM

now sea, thats what I was getting at, the #'s just wern't adding up:confused:
hell my 3100lb GT runs 11.90's@114 and only goes 1.60's in 60' on full slicks and he's doing 1.50 on a D/R and spiining his ass off to boot:eek:

dont make me break-out the:BSmeter:

lewis 09-20-2008 09:31 AM

All my apologizes guys my 16 was playing on here my car has all those mods the cams are comp 2's and the car does way over that 60 feet It has not been to track. I do say sorry for the wasted time

lewis 09-20-2008 09:40 AM

Stephen4036 09-20-2008 10:46 AM

lewis 09-20-2008 12:43 PM
