Default Do i HAVE to? Differential Question

if im getting 4.10's do I HAVE to beef up the rear axel? I wont be doing crazy burn out and such. and I dont go to the track ALOT.
I do Plan on beefing it up in the far future though. But am I good for now, if im not abusing the rear axel???????

im doing my 4.10s and building up the rear all at once, because i go to the track every weekend and i know i push myself cuz this is my first year ever going to a track and i know my car would make better times. i have a bad feeling that my car + 4.10s + my drs is going to result in my car being towed home lol thats honestly the only reason im doing mine. and im glad you also decided on 4.10s!

I here lots of people comment on our Mustang rear ends on how weak? I ran 3:73s + DRs as my only rear end mod for 4 years and never broke anything and I race it every friday nite during the summer  I also have had the same king Cobra Clutch for 3yrs :toothy11: I did have problems with the throw out Bearing!

mines a 96 with 108000 miles. same king cobra for atleast 4 years. replaced throw-out bearing too at 100,000 miles. if i had somethin else to drive i'd just throw 4.30's in and get some slicks.

some people get luckier than others. if you run drag radials with a 5speed you will more than likely break an axle or the spider gears, if you have auto and are NA youll have a safer chance with the stock rear. as for clutches in 5speed trannies, i have no idea about any of them . but i do know those PI multidisk converters are really nice

If I had the money, I would definelty beef up the rear axel, or get a Strange axel. But i am broke. And will be broke for the next 2 years till I pay off the car..lol so for now..im doing basic bolt-on and minor mods..yay :icon_rend
Once i pay off the car imma get me some cams, heads, and the whole shabang.

You know what Id do, as hard as it is, just keep saving til you have the money to do it once. Especially if you are broke like you say, it makes NO sense to pull it apart and pay someone the 200 bucks to do the labor now, and then 2 years later, in the same situation pay them AGAIN. Especially if you happen to brake the axle now, you'll still have pay them again. Just do it so you dont even have to worry about it. I wish I had...but, oh well, this gives me a reason to get the 4.10s like I shouldve in the first place.

Ok. Do what you must. I know the addiction, but the first step to recovery is realizing you have a problem...lol.

its a secret......... lol i'll let ya know when the weather cool down. i did go 13.0@108 on a 90 shot. with nitrous problem. My FPSS kepted shutting my system off. I had no spray in 4th and only some in the bottom of third. But i got a new fuel pump. When it gets cooler out i plan to go deep in the 12's on 17" nittos too.
