right now i am a V6 owner( yeah it is my first car), i've had it close to 5months and i've already put close to 4G in it. once i turn 18 i plan on getting a GT, i'd really like to get a 02-04'. i know nothing bout GT's should i go with a manual or auto trans? and etc. just questons like that.

If you can swing a mach1 that is what you should go for. With just some boltons and a cam swap you can see 380hp. They respond far better to mods, plus they are a lot more rare.

Also, if you are hell bent on getting a GT or mach1 when yer 18, stop modding the V6 unless it is something that can be swapped over.

i really like the mach1's and yeah, I can swap all my mods from the V6 to the next mustang then i can put all the stock crap back on the 6'er.

i would have saved the $$ you put into the 6 and put that and the 6 down on a gt or M1.

naw..i'd be doing the same mods in the long run. i can put the stock stuff back on the 6'er and swap it over on the new one and put the 6 down on the new one.

hell ive had my 6 for 3 years. I don't think im going to be getting a new car until this one dies on me. I dont see the point of having to start a car note all over again when mines already paid off. I have a long ways to go until mine dies being is still only has 21k miles on it.

I disagree with that, my v6 had an auto and I like the TR-3650 better. Plus if he does decide/is able to get a Mach then you'd want a manual so you get the forged bottom end. You can mod the 4R70W to perform pretty good though.

I say don't do any performance mods to the v6. I regret spending money on my v6 after getting the GT, even though I enjoyed it when I had it.

When you start looking for a new Mustang, try and figure out if things have been taken apart or not. Like fenders, engine parts, ect. Usually it's not a good thing when things have been taken apart.

Just go buy a GT or stop talking about it. And stop throwing money into a car you plan on having less than a year.

I dont see how you can call a GT slow if you drive a six cylinder. I have all the respect for a 6 cylinder Mustang but when the owners ignorant I have none. Thats like me calling a Mach slow. It's a crazy thing.

Lol..I'm not ignorant..I've driven a GT before, but in all honesty a GT is nothing special. The 32v 4.6's are much better...the difference between a V6 and a GT is pretty big but the difference between a GT and a Mach is even greater, and the price difference between a GT and a Mach around here is about $2,000 whereas the price difference between a V6 and a GT is around $5,000-$6,000 so it's not worth it to get a GT. I'd rather spend the extra 2K to have a car that can atleast hang with newer cars and the next generation of Mustangs, instead of something that will end up being slower than the next gen V6..ya know?

I agree 100% that a Mach is a better car but i would not call a GT slow just because it's slower than a Mach. The if I had a choice of corse I'd buy a Mach but I would never call a GT slow just like I'd never call a V-6 Mustang slow. The way I look at it, all of us (Mustangs, Camaros, and Firebirds) are in the same boat. That is we all are against "Ricers."

I Wish more of the GT guys shared your attitude. As long as it's an american car, I'm down with it.

Eh if you have a Sixer, you want a GT. If you have a GT, you want a Mach or Cobra. If you got a cobra, you want a ZR1 or a Powerstroke Diesel. Wait, what?

hahaha.
