Can anyone tell me anything about police interceptor motor..What so special about it, specs etc....
Bassman97 is right; they are the same motors internally. The old interceptors had large engines in them such as the Mopar products but when Ford went to the 4.6, they really did not do much. First, they did advance the timing for a bit more spank, and that little move upped the pwr from 205 to 235 on the 98-2000 Vics. The power has gone up since then, but they did not install stroker motors or blowers at the factory. I had some meat head ask me if my "Crown Vic" had the "Police Interceptor Corvette" engine in it. I had to laugh and ask him if he knew the differance between Ford and Chevy.
Ford did beef up the suspention with four wheel disk brakes as well as traction control, high amp alternator and an oil and tranny cooler. With just an XCAL 2 a good tuner can bump the HP that is hidden in the factory motor from 235-250 easy at the flywheel. They can also stiffen up the shifts to give you that chirp from 1-2 shift if you want. Other than that, you can beef up the exhaust to bring up the power some more. HP Performance is looking at building a Turbo for it.
