E85
I've been throwing around the idea of what it would take to convert to flex fuel. I know theres a bunch of kits out there to supposedly do just that but from what I've read, they all have the two settings, gas or E85, that basically piggyback the factory computer. I was considering the OEM route. It doesnt have to be switched back and forth and adjusts automatically. I could be wrong but the main things you'd should have:
Bigger injectors (No big deal..)
A more alcohol tolerant fuel system i.e. stainless lines and replace rubber hoses and maybe a new pump? (Not sure if the hard lines are stainless already)
and the tune aspect of it..

I dont think they made any V8's FF until the last year or two so for the pre-05 cars I dont think that PCM would be a viable option
This would be the biggest issue, obviously. I dont have alot of experience with tuners and I dont know what they could and couldnt do, like disabling what you wouldnt need to keep the check engine light off from a PCM thats for a completely different vehicle. I dont know if you could use one of the older V6 PCM's and re-program it for a V8. I'd love to hear any input on the subject
I doubt I'll try this, theres no where close to me to buy E85 and I dont plan on needing higher octane on a regular basis but I was wondering if anybody else was considering it or using it. I would consider it a better alternative than race gas atleast. Thoughts welcome.

First of all, the flex fuel PCM must be capable of distinguishing between the different types of fuel. The Ford PCM has two different methods of achieving this, dependent on the model year. On 2000 and prior models, the PCM measures input from the flex fuel sensor. On 2001 and later models, the PCM uses a software strategy referred to as “deductive refueling logic.
