Question Patriot Performance Heads stage 2

I was just wondering what everyone thought about these heads. I've heard some horror stories about these heads having valve train problems. I'm looking to buy a set of heads for my 2v, but don't want to spend $2000 if I don't have to. If I can buy these heads for $1200 and not have a problem with them I'd do it, but I haven't heard anything good about them. What's every bodies thoughts on them. I know MM&FF did a build up with them and had nothing but good things to say about the heads.

MM&FF also thinks GMS puts out good stuff. Steen has his stuff starting at $1,500, Livernois for $1,400, Fox Lake for $1,500, etc. Spend the extra $2-300 more for peace of mind.

no experience with Patriot, but I've heard of the same failures.

Livernois has a good rep. spend the money, you won't regret it.

going cheap on heads is not a good thing to do. there are other things you can skimp on, but not heads

They had valve guide problems and apparently they have since switched to different company for that. I don't think its something you need to worry about really. But i also think there are better company's with better flowing heads out there.

Well...Lets just say that I orderd some stage 2's from AM...and sent them back. They do have valve guide problems which is kinda a big deal...N20...which brings me onto my second rant...when I orderd them...I called up the very next day (I had orderd after closing hours) I talked to a guy there and he told me that I hadn't orderd them...2 weeks later they're sitting at my door. I had to spend 80 bucks shipping them back because apparently there's a difference between Steve Woertink and Steven Woertink when they're looking up your name. Kind of a joke...but I was still happy that AM took them back...just pissed off about the 80 bucks

i have the patriot heads... and im happy with them.
Not only am i happy with the heads but Gunnar at patriot has fixed anything wrong with my heads at a cheap price... IE i bent a bunch of valves and they reseated the guides and did the valves and everything at cost for me... was way cheap... and S&H was only like 30 for the head... so was so nice they offered me that kind of customer service...

I'd bet they got the rightside(passenger side) cam timing off a tooth, common mistake

.....oh and to answer some concerns about patirot heads there ARE better quality cylinder heads out there check wth Steen Racing, Modular Performance, Fox Lake or Renagade
