Default 4.6 3v HP rating?

Is the horsepower rating on the new mustang(3v 4.6) 300 rwhp or flywheel? I've beatin so many in my 2v and I allways thought there too slow for 300rwhp. I just figured it out after so long. I feel dumb but I just wanted to make sure.

They weigh more and have about 40hp more. thats about it.

I beat stock ones pretty easy. All i got is K&N intake with Shaker Ram Air, 4:10 gearing, catback exhaust, and diablotune with the slushbox auto tranny. They still have more HP at the wheels even with those mods, but my stang weighs less and the grears are the major factor.

274Hp? at the wheels? in an auto?... lol... that is like an 8.6% drivetrain loss... lol... yah right.

375-450lbs difference is about the same weight huh?

curb weight on an 05GT is about 3,520lbs, also stated at 3450 in other articles...
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...ecs_price.html

curb weight on the 04 GT coupe is 3077lbs.
http://consumerguideauto.howstuffwor...-mustang-4.htm

ive beat a stock 07 California Special that is in my neighborhood several times now. Ive also beat a couple 05+ GT's...

ok im sure every website has a differant weight for the vehicles. anywho, 247 lbs is .25 in a quarter, and plus if it weighs more then its gonna be a lil slower anyway. Even though it has more power, the 4.10's will still walk it in the 1/4.

There are a lot of weight measurements out there and they ALL show at least a 250-300lb difference between the cars. some as high as 400lbs difference. Some of it probably has to do with the optioning and stuff.

So im still wondering how you are claiming 274 whp from an 05+ auto?
seriously.... 8.6% drivetrain loss?

And yeah im in colorado and yeah i wanna race an 06GT cause im sure yer just gonna hop right in and come on out here right? Yah right. Go wave yer E-dick in somone elses face cause im not impressed

Im sorry if it makes you mad, im sorry if it makes you angry, but an auto 04 with light mods can take an 05+ GT just fine. Weather or not you want to accept the fact makes little differnce on the track

regardless, ive beaten several 05+ and a CS Special several times, all i have is catback straights, diablowtune, K&N intake with a shaker, and 4:10 gearing.

a stock 3v auto will have 249rwhp. Assuming a 17% drivetrain loss. A stick will have 261rwhp assuming a 13% drivetrain loss. Auto losses about 17-18% and a stick 12-13%.

There is no question stock for stock 05+ GT's are faster than the 99-04 GT's....what they actually weigh? who knows cause every site is different like someone said. I had an 05 GT loaner car from the dealership one time and it was for sure a nice car....road much better than my mach.....powe wise, not so close and the extra 1,000rpms made a big difference. I'll wait for the 2009 stangs

I bought an 07 with leather does that mean its heavier? I didn't opt for the speaker box in the back so that saves a little weight but then again I weigh 300 lbs myself. Never owned any other generation of the 4.6 but I had an 03 Cobra with all the bolt ons and this one feels just as strong although I KNOW that car was light. I also got the 18" fan blade wheels but I wouldn't give those up.

Leather does not really add any weight. Convertables weigh about 200-300lbs more though.

wait... ok, so you had an 03 cobra? The 2003 Supercharged SVT Cobra with 390hp stock, and all the boltons which including a pully swap will put you at what, 485-500hp?.... more?....

and yer saying yer 2007 GT with the 4.6l 3v engine with 300hp feels just as strong? as a 400-500hp car?....

are you high?

Dude... a STOCK 2003 Cobra would absolutly destroy a 2007 mustang gt..

a pulley swap bolt on cobra will get you about 470rwhp and 500rwtq. Steggy stage IV ported eaton, 2.8" pulley and 4# lower pulley usually gets the cobra's to about 520-530rwhp at about 17psi...this is just the norm. some make more some make less with the same mods just depends on the weather and then some are just factory freaks that dyno at about 365rwhp stock. No way your 07 feels as strong. The 05+ GT's really wake up and make some power with just exhaust, intake and a tune and will outrun any full bolt on 99-04 GT minus a power adder.

Whatever Jackass! Look (forum) tough guy if you read the original post I clearly explained that I never owned any generation of the 4.6 before my 07. My suggestion to you is to go toughen up to someones face and not on a forum where I cant reach out and smack you right in the mouth for that uncalled for comment. You look real tough on here but it is clear why YOU desire a fast car but it wont save you from every *** whoopin. By the way your IP registry isn't beyond the grasp of ALL so think long and hard about your next bout with diahrea of the mouth.
