Default 2003 GT first upgrade

Hello there Im new to the Mustang world lol, But anyways i have myself a 2003 GT that i just purchased and I am ready to start beefing it up but dont want to spend to much money all together would like to spread out things. I already Orderd a K&N CAI here Tommorow I was thinkin and doin some re-search and this is my conclusion but probally not the right one and if someone who has done these upgrades be willin to head me in the right direction that would be great heres me plan on upgrades in order

1. Full set of Pulleys 22% overdrive on water pump and 8% on alternator a Plenum and TB all together lookin at $400

2. Diablo Preditor Flash Tuner, Set of Spark Plugs, Coils, OME Connecters, 500* Boots Lookin at around $500

3. Then lookin at 3.73 Gears Lookin at $200 MAYBE CAM's at that time aswell that'll ad prob $300 or so but

Tell me what you think of my opinons, Again I am not really V8 minded I know about them just dont know what Goes best at what time.

dont even bother with pullies...

get a shifter if a 5spd

get the exhaust how you want it to sound...different midpipe and catback

then gears

some nice springs, shocks, struts...

then maybe tb/plenum

then supercharge it or slap on some nitrous

If i had to do it again i would go used mid pipe and catback (not much power to be had) but a mustang has to sound good. Then i would of gone straight to 4.10gears with a tune and short shifter and lower control arms. This will really make the car get up and go faster. Out of all your options the gears is your best bet. But keep in mind you have to have the car retuned with a chip or hand held tuner to adjust the speedo plus you get some more hp.

I wouldn't bother with the pullies if your looking to have a nice sound system.I've read it somewhere that the alt. just does put out the power to support the additional load.MM&FF is where i believe i read this.Just thought I'de throw in my 2 cents if you concidering a system. And I've heard a lot of people have other problems with pullies later down the road.I forget what though.Good luck.

you decrease alternator output which puts more stress on it. you also make your engine run hotter because of the water pump. pullies are a waste of time, money, effort, and money again when you break something down the road.

Default same direction i am considering

I also have an 03. Mine is unfortunatly auto, but i think i'll live. I would love more feed back on the pulleys.....I'm getting conflicting reports. Also...how are the gears on gas milage. I have a girlfriend about 70 miles from home and the "office" is 50 mile round trip every day....do the math...ouch. But I have seen how effective gears are. Does any one have mpg numbers.
