Default Problems restarting? Why?

I just bought an 02 GT. This is the first time I"ve owned one and I noticed a pattern forming. The car starts up fine and I drive to wherever but when I go to restart it, usually within 45 minutes, it cranks for a good 5-6 seconds before it barely starts up. After that, it runs fine. I am thinking bad gas. Being that I'm still on my first tank, I don't really know. I filled it up with Exxon 87 octane(at least thats what the pump says it is) which I would think is a pretty respectable brand. Just wondering if anybody else has had similar problems. I was also wondering if stepping to 89 octane would do anything to help but I would think that would make starting more difficult if anything.

Cant always blame gas. Check plugs, battery voltage, so on and so forth and who knows maybe it's just you

I used a couple tanks of 89 in my 03. Didn't notice much difference other than decreased gas milage. As far as starting..I would be thinking electrical...MAF type things...They can act wierd when they are starting to have issues when they get hot or REALLY cold. Just my humble guess

I don't run with anything less than 91 octane.I didn't think these cars liked anything else.Try a good fuel system/injecter cleaner. And did you put the gas in it or did the dealership put it in.I'm saying this cause you never know how long gas sits in the tank at the dealership.Oh,,,try a new fuel filter too.Hope this might help.

Thinking fuel filter.Think when your car sits over nite anything in the tank settles to the bottom and when you drive it sturs it up in the tank.Clogging the filter.
