The ECU is under the passenger side kick panel. It is inside of an aluminum case and is easily removed with a screw driver and small 1/4 inch drive sockets.Be sure to ground yourself to prevent any static electrical charges or you can destroy the ECU.

or you can just disconnect the neagtive termial on your battery cuz there shouldnt be anything in your ecu that can discharge voltage, or current.

Sit in the passenger seat. take your right foot and kick towards the passenger side of the car, YOU FOUND IT! Unless you kicked the door.

The static charge doesn't come from the battery,it comes from moving around inside the car. These surges of electricity will wreck the ECU.You ever been shocked when you get out of your car in the winter.Get a ground strap or just hold on to a metal part when you first touch the ECU,and any time you let go of it.This will ground you to the frame of the car and let any static charge dissapate.
