Default new problem since engine replacement

I just replaced my 4.6 with a 4.6...

When reinstalling the engine I had trouble lining up the tq convertor and the input shaft on the 4r70w. It eventually went on but I noticed the bolts had to be tightened to get the engine block and the tranny to fully come together.

I had a harmonic vibration that I thought might be the tranny being out of whack (misaligned), but come to find out I just had to replace the oil pan because the one that came with the new engine was sitting on the steering rack.(engine from crown vic)

Well tonight I go for a drive and I put my predator on just to see how things are going and the Transmission fluid temp is 188C!!!! that's 370 degrees F!!!!!

WTH?!

Any ideas what may be causing this I don't want to have to drop the tranny, but I know I may have no choice... any ideas before I do?

Should have know about the oil pan.....Flush your tranny out first to see if that fixes the problem.

Now you said that it felt like it was unbalanced? Which makes me believe that you have issues with the converter and maybe it's not pumping and circulating like it should?

Tuesday 9pm:

I put my 5yo to bed and the wife turns in early so I think I'll mosey on into the garage and get started on takin' the tranny out.

Everything seems to be going well and one thing leads to another and before you know it I'm puttin stuff back together.

Fastforward: (like 2 minutes)

The wife sticks her head in the garage door and says "What r u doin'"

I tell her I'm ALREADY puttin' stuff back together, why?

It's 4 AM!!! she says....

So wednesday at work was interesting... then I came home and went into a coma for 12 hours

But the tranny is working like a champ...

I know how it is, you just dont want to waste a day wondering whats wrong. My wife knows if I have an itch I will scratch it no matter what time.

Well. Everything is good with the exception of the high readings. I got 170*C still so I emailed Diablo and they said the reading is in *F even though the display shows a "C".

Hallelujah.
