Gears or nitrous is really up to you and what you are trying to achieve. Most guys will probably tell you gears, but if you are looking to have a little fun w/o spending a lot of money, you can certainly do that with a Venom kit and nothing else ever done to the car.

As far as Venom 500 or 1000 and which is safer. They both have the exact same safety features. The differences are:

1 - The Venom 1000 comes with a 10 lb bottle, the 500 have a very small bottle.

2 - The 1000 has a control module that incorporates air/fuel lights. The 500 does not, but STILL uses the same technology to prevent you from spraying when lean.

3 - To activate the 500, your a/f needs to be safe, the car needs to be at WOT and then you need to press the activation button to spray sort of like the Fast and Furious movies. The 1000 activates automatically, but w/o the botton. However, one can be added.

Venom designed the 500 to be a "sleeper" system that can be hidden. The small bottle will fit under the seat. If you did not have a push button activation, the bottle would empty too fast.

get the gears first , 3.90s are a good choice .....if you have over 40K miles replace the bearings and all in there too .....get the nitrous later ....500 kit is great ....I used a toggle switch to wire the push button switch as a master disconnect , its hidden under the ashtray of my fox body ......

I've got the 3.90's and about to spray the engine. If your only getting gears then get the 4.10's or better yet the 4.30's.

Default Gears

I got motive gears and they dont make any noise at all. At 65 I do about 2200 r.p.m. and with these 4.10s the difference is night and day. You do alot more shifting though. But it is worth it. The car sounds great now because you go so fast through each gear. But so, who got a mustang to just idle around?

Diablo tune
Flomaster super 40s
K&N Air filter
4.10 gears

I have 4.10 and I love the. I wish I would of went with 4.30's though. If you're alright with 4.10's get the 4.30's My roomate has them in his 99 GT and honestley there is little diffrence between his and my 4.10's. but you can definatley tell the diffrence when he gets on it. We get the exact same gas mileage.
