Default Cams+Springs Installation Cost?

There have been alot of cam threads lately but I have heard some mixed things on the other forums.

Does adding new springs really add that much more to the installation cost?

Also, would a Stage 1 VT cam or Stage 2 be better for a car with the mods I have listed in my sig? By the time I have cams I will have LT's, but I have heard that the installation cost is doubled when you add new springs to the mix. Will adding a stage 1 cam make a dyno tune absolutely necessary? Could a vendor like brenspeed just program me a tune if I bought an SCT Xcal2?

cam and springs will cost alot to get done..i got quoted 600 for them both..this was a normal speed shop that did all kinds of cars. if u go to a mustang/modular specific shop i believe it will be in the 450-500 range cause they know that specific engine inside and out cause thats all they work on...

The reason why so many shops charge so much more for installing valvesprings because they want to pull the heads outside of the car to install them, much easier to do it that way, but it's still a lot of work to go through. I know if I was charging someone there would be a big price difference between springs and no springs.

Stage 2's for the win!

Including springs, the install will be SIGNIFICANTLY higher. Id say more around 600- 1000. Youll be fine with VT stage 1's if you decide to go that route. I wouldnt get a mail order tune because you're not getting your moneys worth. That being said, you could always get a mail order tune so the car will idle right, then go get a dyno tune. There is always more to be had with a dyno tune.

MARC?!? hey man, your car would be awesome with some stage 2's, go for it, i dont know how much it will cost but there are so many different estimates, you might want to talk to MC Racing where tanner got his exhaust and chip, they do a whole lot of stuff, and apparently mustangs...
